A
mischievous smile lights up her face
At night, in a forest, a young man describe the images of a
film we hear but don’t see : « The birds » of Alfred Hitchcock.
Hanted by this modern story tale where a man and a woman fall
in love in a supernatural context, the forest comes alive little by little. On
the set, the script girl is taking part of the film, connecting singular links
where the sound track’s story of Hitchcock and the visual story of the man and
the script girl are intertwining, until a supernatural destruction of images.
After
a practice of video installation art works from 10 years, dealing mostly with
singular narrative relations between sound and image, this film presents
another way of telling story, inspired by the audio description of images used
by blind audience to see a movie. Here, you can build your own story between
the tale you're watching and the tale you're listening.
Going
past this starting point concept, this film is more a sensual experience of
cinema, with many layers of interpretations, using present time of sequence
shots and non psychologic actor direction. There, you can meet many presences,
witch, crow man, supernatural noisy dark forest, lights and shadows. Far from a
remake of "The Birds" by Hitchcock, the film tries to resuscitate a
prehistoric cinema of caverns, shadows and memories.
