L'expérience préhistorique
Kenji Mizoguchi's sound version

1936. Begining of speaking movies. The childness of the relation between sounds, voices and moving pictures.  Kenji Mizoguchi shot The sisters of the Gion in Kyoto. A story of Geishas with 12 characters.
From this movie, I just keep the sound witch inspire the script of a new mute movie shoot in Kyoto too.  This mute movie, matix of L'expérience préhistorique, present 12 characters with no actions, waiting for voices and stories.
Each sceening is accompany and guide by a live commentary in movie theater. Each experiment have his own story, his own
langage and his own subjectivity.
L'expérience préhistorique is a movie in progress. It is a film made to be no reproductible. His life and story depends of the screening contexts.
A first version has been made in Japanese, with the performance of the Benshi Midori Sawato in Kyoto last december 2003.
The second one was in Paris in April 2004, with the performance of the French writer, Christophe Fiat.
The third one has been realised in Korean, with the performance of Jeon-Seoung Hwan during the opening of the Busan Biennale in South Korean in August 2004.
Others experiments are on preparation in Chinese, Flemish, Italian and a musical version...
